Peet’s, Love & Coffee
CHALLENGE
Customer loyalty programs had taken hold within the rapidly expanding coffee industry and robust digital platforms were becoming wide spread. Peet’s wanted a program with an app that would help drive engagement and build meaningful, longstanding customer relationships.
STRATEGY
Insights: Digital loyalty programs have proven to incentivize and retain customers in ways that can establish trust and build relationships where customers can interact with brands on a level they hadn’t in the past. Peet’s consumers are often in a hurry to get in and out, are drawn to convenience, and often grab coffee or a snack as a pick-me-up in their day.
Solution: Through user data, workshops, and brainstorms we identified potential “moments of awesome” that led to a concept for the program – Peet’s, Love & Coffee – which we used as our north star for program ideas and features. We created a unique, ownable design system specific to the Peet’s app so we could promote it amongst our other food and beverage promotions, and have legs to scale. Peet’s iconic coffee cup designs were positioned to be fun and engaging, with a user-interface that was intuitive and easy to use.
